In June of 2017 the Carr Cares Foundation had the opportunity to be a part of one of Dallas’ biggest events, MegaFest 2017, and oh was it a mega event. Over 100,000 people participated in this year’s festivities. The Carr Cares Foundation was honored to come to the event as an Educational Sponsor which allowed the Foundation to support the event by educating attendees on why childhood literacy is so important.
The Village Expo at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center was the scene for most of the Foundation’s educational outreach, being the home for its Reading Corner sponsored by TakeStock Inventory. This year’s Reading Corner allowed the Carr Cares Foundation team to inform attendees about the Foundation’s work and mission, as well as being an inviting place to relax and read. On the last day of the Expo, we had a special reading with Foundation founder and president Brandon Carr with the kids of MegaFest which was a great hit. Kids were able to take turns reading and even brought their parents in to join the fun.
Thank you to MegaFest and TakeStock for creating a wonderful experience.
