The Carr Cares Foundation hosted their first inaugural “Chopped for a Cause” cooking competition that took place at Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts in Plano, TX. The event, which is now scheduled to be one of their annual fundraisers, was an evening spent raising money through silent and live auctions, sponsorships, and a fun interactive cooking contest.

Four chef teams, consisting of two contestants per top sponsorship, were paired with a celebrity athlete and given a mystery basket full of an unusual combination of ingredients that were expected to be used in their entrees. The dishes that were created by the four competing teams were later evaluated by a panel of judges. The celebrity athletes included: Brandon Carr (Baltimore Ravens), Kavon Frazier (Dallas Cowboys), Byron Jones (Dallas Cowboys) and Chris Harris (Denver Broncos). The sponsoring companies that were paired with these athletes were: Platinum Homes by Mark Molthan, Green Earth Metal Recycling, Baker Brothers Plumbing, Air & Electric, and Merit Botsford Private Wealth. The judges panel included sponsors: Lee Hecht Harrison, Krueger Connect, Minuteman Disaster Response and Celebrity Chef Rodman Shields.

Other sponsors for the evening included Remy Martin, Oil & Vinegar, Big D Party Rentals, and Stonebriar Chevrolet.
