Brandon Carr and his Carr Cares Foundation created a new literacy initiative titled “Lit Buddies”, to promote a culture of reading amongst young students by providing books and other fun literary resources on a bi-monthly basis. Brandon Carr donated 250 year-long subscriptions to students in Dallas, Texas and Baltimore, Maryland. Brandon appeared at Glenmount Elementary in Baltimore on Monday, September 30th to surprise the whole second grade class with their first Lit Buddies box which included two new books, a writing journal, a Lit Buddies wrist band & water bottle, and other fun items! The box also included a Brandon Carr build-a-head which was donated by the company.

6th Annual Brandon Carr Elite Football & Cheerleading Camp
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Brandon Carr returned home to host his 6th annual youth football & cheerleading camp in Flint, Michigan. More than 400 student athletes took the field at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School on Saturday, June 15th.The camp is designed to introduce children to football & cheerleading by teaching basic skills in an exciting and energetic environment while helping more experienced athletes elevate their game through specialized training.
The camp has continued to be a staple in the Flint community since its inception.
Carr Cares Foundation Hosts “Pitch Flint: Young Entrepreneur Challenge 2019”
On June 14, 2019, the Carr Cares Foundation hosted the highly anticipated “Pitch Flint: Young Entrepreneur Challenge 2019” at the Ferris Wheel in downtown Flint, Michigan. In partnership with 100k ideas and the Community Foundation of Flint, the Carr Cares Foundation was able to put on its first inaugural student business pitch competition during Brandon Carr’s annual charity weekend. The competition featured six contestants between the ages of 12-15, whom competed for the opportunity to win as much as $5,000 of grant money to kickstart their business.
Each contestant had the chance to pitch their innovative idea to a panel of judges and the local business community.
The Carr Cares Foundation hosted their first inaugural “Chopped for a Cause” cooking competition that took place at Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts in Plano, TX. The event, which is now scheduled to be one of their annual fundraisers, was an evening spent raising money through silent and live auctions, sponsorships, and a fun interactive cooking contest.
Four chef teams, consisting of two contestants per top sponsorship, were paired with a celebrity athlete and given a mystery basket full of an unusual combination of ingredients that were expected to be used in their entrees. The dishes that were created by the four competing teams were later evaluated by a panel of judges.
