Brandon Carr donates $110,000 towards Flint Water Crisis

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) has been awarded a generous donation by Dallas Cowboy Brandon Carr to establish two funds to help children and families impacted by the Flint Water Crisis. Carr, a Genesee County native, announced a gift of $100,000 to establish the Carr Cares Fund for Flint. An additional $10,000 gift established the Safe Water Safe Homes Fund to help replace pipes and plumbing for Flint’s most vulnerable residents.

The Flint Water Crisis is a crisis that started in April 2014 and continued into 2016 in the city of Flint, Michigan where over 10,000 children were exposed to high levels of lead in their drinking water. The children now need serious treatments that may continue for the next 20 years. Brandon Carr, who grew up in Flint, is working to help these children who face severe developmental and other health issues.
