Brandon Carr and his Carr Cares Foundation created a new literacy initiative titled “Lit Buddies”, to promote a culture of reading amongst young students by providing books and other fun literary resources on a bi-monthly basis. Brandon Carr donated 250 year-long subscriptions to students in Dallas, Texas and Baltimore, Maryland. Brandon appeared at Glenmount Elementary in Baltimore on Monday, September 30th to surprise the whole second grade class with their first Lit Buddies box which included two new books, a writing journal, a Lit Buddies wrist band & water bottle, and other fun items! The box also included a Brandon Carr build-a-head which was donated by the company.
Baltimore Ravens Standout Brandon Carr Hosts Bright Smiles Kids Awards
On February 15th, more than 300 of Baltimore’s Arlington Elementary School students donned top hats and tiaras, boas and bow ties today to attend the Bright Smiles Kids Awards hosted by Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Carr Cares Reading Buddy Program
The Carr Cares Foundation and the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce partnered up to implement the PALS (Peer Assistant Leadership & Services) program in Oak Cliff and Greater Dallas area schools. The Kickoff Celebration of this partnership with Carter High School and Mark Twain Elementary took place on Tuesday, March 1st at Mark Twain Elementary.
The program will give Carter High School PALS students the tools to develop positive, one-to-one mentoring relationships with Mark Twain Elementary students while encouraging them to value literacy programs and activities in and out of the school environment.
YMCA Park South Welcomes Brandon Carr as Keynote Speaker
On February 10th, the Park South YMCA celebrated the kick-off of its annual campaign in grand style with Brandon Carr – Cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys as its keynote speaker.
The Park South YMCA serves a community where the average annual income for a family of five is $39,000. Every year the YMCA raises funds, so they do not have to turn individuals or families away for an inability to pay. Flint Water Crisis
The Flint Water Crisis is a crisis that started in April 2014 and continued into 2016 in the city of Flint, Michigan where over 10,000 children were exposed to high levels of lead in their drinking water. The children now need serious treatments that may continue for the next 20 years. Brandon Carr, who grew up in Flint, is working to help these children who face severe developmental and other health issues.
